David De Gea has rightly earned praise from both his old and new managers for finally establishing himself as one of the Premiership's top keepers.with a string of outstanding displays.
That is until recently..
Last night's nightmare blunder apart, which has almost certainly cost us our last chance of silverware with four months of the season to run, further weak efforts to stop close range shots against Tottenham and Chelsea when the ball crept under his body may have undermined his confidence before that Sunderland sucker punch.
And talking of punches, there have been a number of occasions where he has come out to flap at crosses and still seems reluctant to come off his line like any top keeper should.
Maybe ,like the rest of the team he is experiencing a drop in confidence ,or hopefully it's just a minor blip he is going through.
But any further catastrophes might force the manager to look at Lidegaard again which would be worrying turn of events.
