Finally, the press have really got their teeth into the hapless David Moyes ,and not before time.
A series of cutting questions left the manager clearly taking aback by the severity of the onslaught - something he can also expect to endure at the Emirates tonight
Instead of the usual softly softly approach, the reporters forced him on to the back foot with numerous comments and outright criticisms of his tactics and tenure to date ,noting a woeful seventh position as well the whole way United are tackling the situation under his leadership.
Moyes tried to bat most of the flack away with his expressions of supreme confidence in his abilities to turn things round, paying tribute to the fans' continued support, and noting that the position was one he had always coveted and that the team rebuilding was an ongoing exercise he would be addressing - hopefully with a great deal ore urgency- when the season comes to a close.
He had to acknowledge that things had not gone exactly as he had planned .That's an understatement !
Tonight's little get together with Arsenal maybe another watershed moment for the beleaguered boss of a once proud football institution which has even attracted ridicule today in a leading French newspaper.
The rest if the world, like his detractors here are clearly relishing the demise of a footballing empire.
Moyes needs a positive result and performance this evening or those clamouring for his removal will find a renewed voice as the season sinks into total oblivion.
