Fresh reports are tonight emerging linking Manchester United with a move for Real Madrid's Ángel Di María. According to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope (rehashed by Spain-based journalist François David), the Argentine would be happy with a move to Old Trafford, providing the Red Devils met his contract demands.
The reports claim that Di María had an agreement in place with Paris Saint-Germain, though the French club eventually pulled out, claiming Real Madrid wanted more than they were willing to pay. Di María isn't particularly unhappy in Madrid, though he quite fancies the pay rise that he was going to receive in Paris. Now, should United offer the same terms, he'll be happy to move to Old Trafford. Cadena Cope is apparently quite a reliable news source, so this is certainly one to watch.
On one hand, TBB is sceptical about how much Di María would really improve United. He doesn't plug any gaps that are still gaping, and he doesn't really fit into the 3-4-1-2 very well whatsoever. On the other, he's undoubtedly a world class player, and last season was his best ever. And there should always be room for another genuinely top class talent, right?
