Well, those contract problems got sorted pretty quickly then. Sporting Lisbon have just confirmed that Marcos Rojo has completed his transfer to Manchester United

Rojo becomes United's third signing of the summer, following Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw to Old Trafford. The 24-year-old is played at left-back or left-wingback for Argentina at the World Cup, but spent much of last season playing in the middle of defence for Sporting. Expect to see him either on the left side of a three, or competing with Luke Shaw for the left fullback spot in a back four.
Exactly how much he's set the club back isn't clear. Sporting's tweet above suggests that they're getting €9m, but a snarl of third-party ownership deal mean that the likely figure is likely to be anything up to double that amount. The deal also sees Nani go back to his childhood club on a season-long loan; it's understood that United will continue to cover his wages.
All together now: "Marcos Rojo is a red, is a red, is a red. Marcos Rojo is a red. We speak Spanish."
