It has been speculation since Saturday that Mancheter United were closing in on a deal for PSV Eindhoven starlet Andreas Pereira. After an interview with VoetbalPrimeur, it appears that the 15-year-old Brazilian-born and Belgian youth international has confirmed the deal. It is reported that the midfielder will leave for Old Trafford in January. Here are quotes from the youngster himself:

"I knew that PSV had given me my chance, but Manchester United is obviously a great club. Other British clubs were interested. I thought about it, but Manchester United is a dream club for me.I have been a few times to Manchester United to have a look.I got a tour and spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson. Being a 15-year-old and being able to talk with him is great!"

Pereira is one of the most highly touted youth players in the world and it is believed that the likes of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and Inter Milan were all keen on signing the youngster. The signing is terrific news but quite obviously things can be a bit unpredictable with youngsters. Current youth talents Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison have many excited as each have shown tremendous potential on the pitch. However, it is some much discussed off the pitch incidents that have many concerned about the latter. I do not doubt that Pereira is a fantastic talent but perhaps cautious optimism is the proper way to react over the signing of a 15-year-old kid.
