Football is supposed to fun and for many, it also provides relief or an escape from any unpleasantness in life. Well, this situation where Luiz Suarez has been charged by the English FA for racially abusing Patrice Evra certainly is not fun and it is definitely unpleasant. It appears that the FA hearing in regards to this matter has begun in secrecy* according to a report by the Guardian. Evra is alleging that Suarez used a racist insult towards him "at least 10 times" during Manchester United's 1-1 away draw versus Liverpool FC in October. Suarez denies any wrongdoing and claims that whatever term that he used -- widely speculated to be "negrito" -- is simply an affectionately used description that translates to "little black fella" in South America. This is certainly a very complicated issue so, uh.... good luck to the FA in their quest to provide justice. Liverpool is fully backing Suarez and if the striker is found of these charges, it is speculated that he faces a lengthy ban. It is not certain as to how long this hearing will take place but it is understood that an announcement is possible by the week's end.
* obviously not too secret if I'm typing this up right now
