HIGHLIGHTS: Queens Park Rangers 0-2 Manchester United

It took just 52 seconds for Manchester United to score when Wayne Rooney headed home Antonio Valencia's cross from the right side of attack. United continued to create quality chances but it would be another 55 minutes before they could net a second goal. After the likes of Valencia, Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, and Danny Welbeck all came so close to bagging United's second goal (while ultimately failing though), it was Michael Carrick that intercepted a Joey Barton pass and then dribbled the ball 35 yards or so before calmly finishing past Radek Cerny to the near-post. It was a fine performance from the Reds and they certainly would be justified if they felt a bigger gap in the scoreline was deserved. The match earned Sir Alex Ferguson's side three points an hour prior to Manchester City's kickoff with Arsenal -- United were briefly top of the table until the final whistle blew at the Etihad Stadium to secure City's 1-0 defeat of the Gunners. Next up for United is a trip to London once again on Wednesday -- this time to Craven Cottage for a clash with Fulham FC.
