Manchester United defender Patrice Evra appears to have has ended speculation that he would be leaving Old Trafford in the summer by agreeing to a four-year deal, with the announcement expected to come on Friday morning according to the Guardian coming Monday afternoon. Rumors had been swirling that Evra would be leaving in the summer for Real Madrid, and United had been linked with numerous left-backs that might come in the summer transfer window as his replacement. Evra is considered to be one of the best left-backs in the world, and he's often spoke fondly of United and their tradition. With Nemanja Vidic recently penning a new deal, Rio Ferdinand's presence, and the emergence of Rafael and Chris Smalling this season, Evra's signing would solidify solidifies United's defense for years to come. Perhaps there will be nobody happier about this news than Evra's good friend Park Ji-Sung.

*UPDATE* It appears to be a done deal with the announcement coming on Monday

*UPDATE #2* Evra has signed the new deal, according to the team's website. "Ever since I arrived at United, it's been a dream come true playing here," Evra told ManUtd.com. "The fans, the players, the manager and the staff all work hard to make this club the best in the world. I've won a lot in the last five years, but I want to win more and I know that's the mentality of everyone here."
