According to a report by The Sun, Manchester United winger Nani may be sidelined up to a month. The Portuguese winger received a severe gash on his leg after a challenge from Liverpool's Jamie Carragher this past Sunday, an injury that forced him off the pitch at Anfield. Nani is also reportedly upset that the club did not offer him more public support after the match, when United went on a media blackout in protest of recent incidents involving referees and the media backlash of Sir Alex Ferguson. United chief executive, David Gill, was livid after Carragher's rash challenge and communicated his concern to referees' chief Mike Riley at halftime in the director's box at Anfield. Nani did offer a statement on twitter today: "I would like to thank supporters for their good wishes and I hope to be back really soon."
