Manchester United continued with their unbeaten record at Old Trafford in the season finale with a 4-2 victory over Blackpool FC. In typical Tangerine theatrics, the match was a rollercoaster ride for the now relegated side. Inside the 21st minute, a sublime through ball by Dimitar Berbatov slipped Park Ji-sung through and the Korean calmly chipped it over Blackpool goalkeeper Matthew Gilks for the game's opening goal. Just before halftime, the visitors equalised after a superb free-kick from Charlie Adam. Things began to look optimistic for the Tangerines when Gary Taylor-Fletcher put his side ahead in the 57th minute. However, the dream of another season in the Premier League began to fade when Anderson equalised minutes later. Then in a moment of heartbreak, one that was difficult to watch even for this United supporter, Blackpool defender Ian Evatt catastrophically put one into his goal. Minutes later, Michael Owen put a nail into visitor's Premier League coffin with another United goal as Blackpool will now return to the Championship next season.
