Ashley Young is close to sealing a transfer to Manchester United from Aston Villa in a reported £16 million deal. The 25-year-old England international is set to get married this weekend in Hertfordshire and it is anticipated that he will shore up the few remaining details on his move when he returns from holiday. Young is a versatile attacker - he is comfortable on either wing and he's flourished this past season in a withdrawn and supporter's role to striker Darren Bent. This versatility could prove valuable to United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as United will need to rotate their squad and use various tactics as they do battle on the domestic and European front. Young has one year remaining on his current contract with Villa.
In other transfer rumor news, it is being speculated that Arsenal FC are not meeting the demands of midfielder Samir Nasri, who only has a year remaining on his contract. Although it seems a bit low, a £10 million transfer fee is the current rumor. In addition, United's deal for Blackburn Rovers' Phil Jones may not be done - rather than just accepting the £16 million trigger clause for the defender, Blackburn apparently values Jones at £25 million.
