For the upcoming international break, five Manchester United players have been called into the England squad for their Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales. 19-year-old Phil Jones and 22-year-old Tom Cleverley have each been called for their first senior call-up, with the latter missing his chance in a cancelled friendly versus Holland due to the riots in England. Another youngster, 21-year-old Chris Smalling, has also been called up again but he has yet to make his Senior squad debut. Smalling will likely be in competition with Manchester City's Micah Richards for the starting right-back spot. Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, who are both key figures in the national team, have been called up again as well. Former England captain Rio Ferdinand will not risk injury as he has just recovered from a hamstring problem. Danny Welbeck also injured his hamstring soon after scoring United's opening goal in their 8-2 demolition of Arsenal FC on Sunday at Old Trafford -- the youngster likely would have been called up as well. Michael Carrick has been a regular in the England squad also but after not featuring much for club these past few weeks, fitness and form may be a concern for the central-midfielder.
