MATCH HIGHLIGHTS: Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United -- FA Community Shield

Perhaps this was just a glorified friendly, or perhaps Manchester United set the tone for the upcoming season and showed why they are the champions - either way, this was a terrific football match. Despite going down 2-0 to Manchester City, after questionable goalkeeping from the newly £18.9 million acquired David de Gea, United once again showed their famous resolve and grit. Chris Smalling cooly pulled one back in the 52nd minute after a delicious ball sent in from Ashley Young on a set piece. Just six minutes later, the Reds leveled the score when Wayne Rooney, Tom Cleverley, and Nani beautifully combined and the Portuguese winger clinically finished past Joe Hart. In the 94th minute, with the tie looking destined for penalties, Nani capitalized on a Vincent Kompany blunder to go clear on goal - once again, he cooly rounded Hart and slid home the winner for United. After losing their past two matches at Wembley Stadium, United earned a small measure of redemption by lifting the Community Shield. Here are highlights from the terrific match courtesy of Fox Soccer:
