It wasn't particulary exciting, but we got what we needed today. The three points with three goals, one each from the returning maestro, Paul Scholes, Danny Welbeck and Micheal Carrick. A first half penalty was squandered by Wayne Rooney and it looked for all the money in the world the half time scoreline would be 0-0.

Up popped Paul Scholes. The Midfield Magician swept home a square ball from Rooney that calmed any nerves after dominating but not captalizing on chances made in the first half. United were forever getting into good positions, but poor finishing and a lack of composure made sure Bolton hung in there. The second came from Welbeck. A good finish under pressure, the challenge kept him down and that was his last involvement in the game. The fact he limped off suggests it was nothing serious and was more a precaution, so hopefully he is back for Arsenal next week.

The third was a great bit of play from Carrick. Forced onto his left foot, he simply side footed home from a full 20 yards. He really should be pulling the trigger more often with shooting ability like that. He could easily grab upwards of 8 goals a season IMO. For the record that is just his second of the season.

All in all a good day at the office. Some good performances, three goals and a clean sheet. Our defence was rarely troubled, and Anders Lindegaard handled everything thrown his way very well.

We now look toward a trip to Arsenal next weekend in which will be a pivotal match for both teams. United for our title chances and Arsenal in their hopes for a Champions League place.
