One of the events from Manchester United's wild 4-3 defeat of Reading FC on Saturday was Anderson hobbling off just prior to half-time due to a hamstring injury. After the match, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that the Brazilian midfielder will likely not be available for selection for next week's derby versus Manchester City:

"It's a hamstring unfortunately. He'll be out for a few weeks. He's been playing really well and scored a great goal today. I'm very disappointed for him."

Ando has provided a spark as of late to the United engine room and he deservedly earned a few starts this past week. His loss will be a huge blow for Sunday's Manchester derby as his physicality and vitality was needed to compete against City's Yaya Toure. Without a doubt, the midfield battle will be a huge concern for the Red Devils against their title-contending rivals. United still can choose from the likes of Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, and Ryan Giggs in midfield but none provide the physical presence and directness of the Brazilian. Get well soon Ando and take it easy on your hamstring and on the snacks while you're out.
