After last nights somewhat disappointing performance against Fulham, despite picking up all three points, it is time to rate those players. Here you are then

A score of 1 being the lowest (David Bellion standard), 10 being the highest (Messi like) A score of 6 will be standard, 7 is solid, a very good game will get an 8, 9 is good for outstanding and 10 is unplayable. 10's will be very rare. Not only will they have to play the game of their life, but it will usually come against a team of good quality or in a big match (Finals, championship deciding game's etc.)

David De Gea - Done very well. Didn't have much to do in the way of world class saves, but his handiling from crosses, both low and high is great. Relieved pressure from the defense by not spilling the ball. Growing with every game now. His displays are a joy to behold. 7.5/10

Rafael - Kept Frei very quiet. Surged forward when he could. Him and Valencia seem to play well when partnered on the right. 7/10

Jonny Evans - Keeps getting better. Grabbed the assist for Rooney, a week after he scored his first United goal in the 5-0 win a Wolves. Good in possession, dominant in the air and hard in the tackle. 8/10

Rio Ferdinand - Another good showing. He and Evans compliment each other very well. His passing was great, as it had to be when we dominated the game as much as we did. His presence was missed when he went off late with a stiff back. Mistakes crept in. 7.5/10

Patrice Evra - Hey... I thought he played quite well last night. Defended probably as well as he has the whole season. Surged forward and linked up with Ashley Young well. But still had a couple of brain farts in the second half. For instance he found himself in a good shooting opportunity. Yet instead of swinging his right boot at it, he dummied and it fell wonderfully to a Fulham defender. 7/10

Antoinio Valencia - Always a threat. His ability to run at his marker always causes danger. And his crossing is very reliable. Would like to see him add goals to his game more, and he spurned a chance to do just that last night. 7.5/10

Michael Carrick - Had a good game. A very good one considering he had no help from Giggs. Got lucky with the penalty decision as it clearly took the foot of Danny Murphy. (I say clearly, the replay clearly showed that he took the foot and not the ball).7/10

Ryan Giggs - Not good. Played far too many poor passes and that killed the momentum at times and turned over possession. Picked up a yellow too for a very rash challenge. Did play one good pass to set Valencia free but other than that, way below his high standards. 4.5/10

Ashley Young - Along with Valencia, was United's best attacker. His cross led to the goal. Also had a couple of chances. One a lovely curled effort that was well saved, and the other a volley where he showed good technique to get the effort on target. 7.5/10

Danny Welbeck - Far from his best. Just couldn't get hold of the ball and thus had very little impact. None of his driving runs forward or his lovely touches. No link up with Rooney either which has been a big plus all year. 5/10

Wayne Rooney - Not great, but again he grabbed the winner. The ability to affect the game without playing well is a mark of a good striker. This is what sets us apart from the likes of Chelsea or Liverpool. 7/10

Subs

Javier Hernandez - Forced to play a lot of his time spent on the pitch as the lone man, which doesn't suit him. 5.5/10

Paul Scholes - Helped grab hold of the ball and keep possession. Nothing special, but at that stage, nothing special was needed. 6/10

Chris Smalling - Done well but Rio's calming influence was missed when he was replaced. 6/10

Team Performance - This was a game where we really should have been looking to close the goal difference down. We had so much possession and got in dangerous positions, but then the move would break down due to a mistake. The defense can be proud. The attack was almost found wanting. 6.5/10
