A week after suggesting that Manchester United showed desperation when arguably the finest midfielder to grace the Premier League returned to the club, Patrick Viera has started yapping again.
Two days after Mike Oliver failed to give a penalty to Fulham after Micheal Carrick made contact with Danny Murphy, Viera has suggested that Manchester United gain preferential treatment at Old Trafford. (Like we haven't heard that before....)
"When United play at home they get some advantage that other teams don't get,"
"I think when you go to United, Madrid, Barcelona, or Milan, when the referees referee these kind of games, it's always difficult to go against these kind of teams.
"This is the way it is.
"It's something the teams who are used to winning get all the time, so we need to win games so we have this advantage in the future."
Less than two weeks ago, Manchester City were top of the Premier League. Now, they are three points adrift of us. You would think that Viera should get his own house in order before he starts jabbering about how the referee's love United and are afraid of Fergie....
Seriously, what is his actual role at City? Chief spokesperson? Why is he so concerned with us. Do your job man. Apparently he is "Football Development Executive". Whatever the hell that means. If it means talk as much Sh*t as possible, GOOD JOB PATRICK!
I mean, he then goes on to say this when asked about City's title chances.
"This is our moment.
"Since the start of the season we've been the best team and played the best football.
"I believe the club deserves it."
And then he backtracks....
"When you are first you have the advantage, they are favourites"
