Blackburn Rovers Team News | Gael Givet is '50/50' for Monday

Raise your hand if you thought Steve Kean would last this far without getting sacked. Looks like Kean is the only one raising his hand.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean held his pre-match press conference today and during it, he revealed some team news and he also offered some hints about his team selection for Monday night's clash with Manchester United. Here is what the Blackburn boss had to say about defender Gael Givet:

"Gael Givet is going to be touch and go because he has a hamstring strain. He's not responding as quickly as we thought so he will be 50-50."

Right-back Jason Lowe has a broken hand but he's expected to feature versus United according to his manager:

"Everybody else is fit even though Jason Lowe broke his hand and played on against Bolton but he's going to be fine, he's a tough boy."

For the past three matches, Kean has deployed the same starting XI in a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1ish shape. However, he hinted at some changes for when the Premier League leaders visit Ewood Park on Monday night:

"There's a temptation [for change], we'll look at all the different options we have, we'll assess the players very closely, we monitor them all through the week."

Junior Hoilett has recently been deployed behind center-forward Yakubu but the tricky attacker may be deployed on the left versus United in a possible 4-1-4-1. The changes that Kean is likely considering is adding another player in the center of the park so that he can provide more structure to his side. The Rovers manager won't be able to choose from Michel Salgado nor Vince Grella as both are out with injury.
