Danny Welbeck is a possible injury worry after being Nigel de Jong'd

It appears that Nigel de Jong has struck again. The combative midfielder -- one that has snapped the legs of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden and Newcastle United attacker Hatem Ben Arfa, along with infamously putting a boot to Xabi Alonso's chest during the 2010 World Cup final -- was booked just 8 minutes after coming on as a substitute for a rash challenge on Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck during last night's derby. The tackle sparked a heated exchange between managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Roberto Mancini.

Welbeck was able to finish participating in the match after the challenge and during the final minutes of it, there didn't appear to be any obvious injury to the 22-year-old. However, the England international was spotted wearing a protective boot while he exited the Etihad Stadium so there is a worry that he may miss United's final two matches of the season. The severity of the possible injury is unknown and the injury itself has yet to be confirmed by anyone from United. If Welbeck is unvailable for the season's final weeks, then Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) can be expected to step into the starting XI.
