Sky Sports reports that young Chilean striker Angelo Henriquez has travelled to England and is due in Manchester for a medical for Manchester United, with rivals Manchester City also sniffing around.
Henriquez has previously trained with United, and is considered one of the hotter properties in South America. It was also alledged that Manchester United had already agreed a fee for the player, believed to be around £3M. It could be that if we do buy the player, we will loan him straight back to his current club Universidad de Chile.
From the brief footage I have seen, he appears to have good pace, coupled with intelligent movement that allows him to peel off the defense as he looks to run in behind the back four. His finishing is also decent, as is shown by his 11 goals in 17 appearences last season for his club.
The players age, as well as the small fee falls in line with our transfer policy of recent years, unlike the deals for Robin Van Persie, and the failed attempts at Eden Hazard and Lucas Moura. I really feel this is very likely to get done soon.
