Prepare yourself, this is no proper recap. I'm way too gutted and exhausted and this is merely a quick random musing and a thread provided for all of your post-match reaction thoughts. Sir Alex Ferguson named a starting XI that left many wondering if his side would be overwhelmed by the athleticism and pace of Tottenham Hotspur -- Manchester United were certainly overwhelmed in the first-half. Jan Vertonghen quickly struck for Spurs in the 2nd minute after a failure by Nani to track back, woeful defending, and an unfortunate deflection that wrong-footed Anders Lindegaard. In the 32 minute, Gareth Bale used his past to burst by United's defenders and the North London side had Old Trafford in shock with their 2-nil lead. Wayne Rooney came on as a half-time substitute and he immediately sparked his side. The game went bananas from here: Nani pulled one back in the 51st minute from a Rooney cross, Clint Dempsey scored his first goal for his new club in the 52nd minute, and Shinji Kagawa once again pulled United within a goal in the 53rd minute. From here, Spurs simply sat back trying to hold on while United were unfortunate never to find the equaliser. There are many, many frustrating things about this match from a United perspective but it was an absolute treat to see Paul Scholes pull the strings like he did in the second-half -- it was an absolute world-class performance by our midfield maestro. Enjoy these moments because it'll soon end. Have at it in the comments sections.
