Robin van Persie scored a memorable hat-trick in the Netherlands' demolition of Hungary in the UEFA World Cup qualifiers last night, becoming the all-time top goalscorer for the Dutch national team in the process.
Van Persie opened the scoring with a well-placed header before adding another headed goal and a simple finish later to put him top of his country's all-time leaderboard.
With Van Persie not having been in the best of form for Manchester United recently, hopefully this is a sign that he's put the worst of it behind him, although of course it's a different team and Hungary were woeful on the night. Nonetheless, if he could get back to his form of bailing us out at every opportunity, we'd be most grateful - as good as Adnan Januzaj is, we doubt he can do it with the regularity that Van Persie did last season.
