Manchester United face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, and there are a few surprises on the teamsheets.

David Moyes has opted to rest players as expected, but the likes of Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Phil Jones, Rafael and Adnan Januzaj get no such chance to recuperate. They're bolstered by Rio Ferdinand, Shinji Kagawa and Ashley Young.

Ferdinand in defence will be a worry, but Jones-Giggs was the midfield that helped tear Leverkusen apart. Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa could well be playing for their careers at United.

Meanwhile, Shakhtar line up more or elss as expected, with one-time heavily-rumoured United target of yore Douglas Costa on one wing, and hopefully future United target Bernard on the other.

Manchester United starting lineup: David De Gea, Rafael, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Alexander Buttner, Phil Jones, Ryan Giggs, Adnan Januzaj, Shinji Kagawa, Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney.

Subs: Anders Lindegaard, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Nani, Antonio Valencia, Javier Hernandez, Robin van Persie.

Shakhtar Donetsk starting lineup: Pyatov, Srna, Kucher, Rakitskiy, Shevchuk, Fred, Stepanenko, Douglas Costa, Teixeira, Bernard, Adriano.
