Manchester United vs. Everton: Lineups and live coverage

Manchester United take on Everton at Old Trafford, with Robin van Persie and Phil Jones missing, but Rafael returning to the team.

Phil Jones and Robin van Persie are absent as Manchester United face Everton at Old Trafford.

Despite a fine recent run of form, Jones is absent from the squad, with Marouane Fellaini taking his place in midfield alongside Ryan Giggs. Antonio Valencia continues out wide, while Danny Welbeck also makes a start with Shinji Kagawa and Antonio Valencia keeping their places despite some poor recent form.

It's not entirely certain what the lineup is - it could be a 4-4-2 with Rooney and Welbeck up front, or a 4-2-3-1 with Welbeck wide and Kagawa in the centre. David Moyes switched from the latter to the former midway through the Spurs game and we looked a lot better after he did, so maybe he'll stick with that again.

The very good news is that Rafael returns to the starting lineup where he belongs. Smalling, therefore, is back in the centre of defence. Januzaj is also in the squad, albeit on the bench. Happy days!

Manchester United starting lineup: David De Gea; Rafael, Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling, Patrice Evra; Marouane Fellaini, Ryan Giggs; Antonio Valencia, Shinji Kagawa, Danny Welbeck; Wayne Rooney.

Subs: Anders Lindegaard, Jonny Evans, Tom Cleverley, Nani, Ashley Young, Javier Hernandez, Adnan Januzaj.

Everton starting lineup: Howard, Oviedo, Distin, Jagielka (c), Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Pienaar, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku.
