Nani to decide his Manchester United future 'in the next few days'

Is Nani on his way out from Old Trafford?

After Portugal's 1-0 defeat of Russia yesterday, Manchester United winger Nani had this to say about his Old Trafford future:

"I have not yet decided where I am going or if I am going. In the next few days I will decide my future."

The 26-year-old has been the subject of much transfer speculation after spending a season on the fringes at United. Wingers Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young were massive disappointments this past season so that made it even more frustrating that Nani mightily struggled also. The Portugal international only has one year remaining on his current contract so a decision on his United future had been expected this summer -- either he'll commit himself to a new contract or the club will likely sell him rather than letting him walk away for free next summer. In the past week, Nani has been linked with a move to Monaco for a speculated £20 million transfer fee -- although that price might be a bit higher than reality.

Both Valencia and Young have longer remaining contracts at the club so both of them appear more likely to stay than Nani. The highly-rated Wilfried Zaha is arriving next month while United have other players -- such as Ryan Giggs, Danny Welbeck, and Shinji Kagawa -- that can put in a shift out wide. Nani, with his current form, is surplus to requirements so United should be delighted if another club came in offering anything north of £15 million for the player.
