Manchester City will attempt to sign Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Adnan Januzaj impressed in United's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, but only has one year remaining on his contract and the Blues could swoop to strike a deal for the youngster as soon as January which would give United only a minor compensation fee.

The report claims, in a part that's probably just fleshing out the story, that David Moyes doesn't want a repeat of the Paul Pogba situation. Quite. Let's just briefly consider the terrifying prospect, however, that Ed Woodward will be tasked with sorting this one out.

Even if City make a bigger offer, it might not be too worrying - Januzaj was one of our best players today and can certainly get plenty of gametime for us this season. It's hard to see him doing the same at Manchester City, where he'll have competition from David Silva, Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas and Stevan Jovetic. At the moment, few details have emerged, but hopefully we can tie him down to a new contract soon.
