Manchester United's deal to sign Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera looks to be set to happen after he club reportedly activated the release clause.
Manchester United have apparently agreed to pay the €36m release fee, according to the Telegraph's Mark Ogden, who is usually reliable concerning United. Kevin Palmer, a writer for the Sunday World and ESPN also says that a deal is close, with Sky's Guillem Balague also backing up the reports.
Herrera has even reportedly said he will reduce his wage demands to make the transfer happen, so the deal appears set to go through as United finally sign a central midfielder.
There seem to be few hitches in the way, if the club have been dealt with correctly, as the player seems to want to join United, but complications could hold the deal up for a while yet. Confirmation on any developments will be here when we get them.
