Jesse Lingard, on a month's loan to Birmingham City, has remarkably scored four goals on his debut for the midlands club.
The Manchester United youngster impressed in pre-season with his goalscoring ability and has managed to carry that over into the far more competitive Championship.
It's a good day for United youth products everywhere, with Ravel Morrison bagging his first Premier League goal for West Ham United, along with Robbie Brady getting on the scoresheet for Hull. Nicky Ajose and Federico Macheda have also scored in the afternoon's football.
Whether Lingard will play a part in our squad this season remains to be seen, as there are others who are arguably closer, but this bodes well for the future, especially with other youngsters such as Adnan Januzaj looking exciting too. Hopefully, at least one of the newly-problematic attacking midfield positions won't require us to dip into the Glazers' very deep pockets.
