Vidic and Evra look set to leave Manchester United

Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra look increasingly likely to leave the club at the end of the season, with betting now suspended on the former joining Galatasaray.

Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra look likely to leave Manchester United at the end of the season when their contracts expire, according to reports.

Vidic has suddenly been linked with a move to Galatasaray, with reports that the Turkish side have already agreed a pre-contract agreement which cements his move in place for the summer when his contract expires. Vidic's agent has come out to deny the claims, although it looks likely that the club will press hard for an agreement.

And it looks like Patrice Evra could also be following him out of the door, with fresh reports that he will return to AS Monaco at the end of the season.

Rio Ferdinand is also unlikely to get a new deal at United, although it is not currently clear whether he will stay in football when he leaves the club. Losing three veterans is never a good thing, although Ferdinand has certainly outlived his usefulness and Vidic and Evra are looking increasingly suspect (albeit not as much as some would insist.)

It's also a shame to lose three players who have more than a good shout of being considered the best in the club's history in their position. They were certainly the best defence we ever had.
