AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanić has been quoted as describing himself as 'flattered' to be linked with a move to Manchester United. According to the Manchester Evening News, the Bosnian midfielder said:

"It's flattering and I am sure glad to hear that. I have become a supporter of Roma and should there be a transfer it will require that the three parties agree."

Considering United's current predicament, Pjanić's words seem perversely more flattering than the club's interest -- proof that an Old Trafford switch is still an appealing prospect for some of the best players in the world. That's certainly a category into which he should be placed, having consistently delivered brilliant performances in Roma's charge up the Serie A table this season.

Roma confirmed that they had received offers for the playmaker earlier this month, and have since reinforced their midfield with the arrival of Radja Nainggolan -- possibly in anticipation of a departure. However, with Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain also linked with Pjanić, there's nothing concrete to suggest United have made a move.
