Michael Carrick reportedly set for a month on the sidelines

Michael Carrick has only just returned to action after an achilles problem, though could be set for another month on the sidelines with a fresh injury concern.

Michael Carrick has already missed a fair chunk of the season with an achilles injury, though it looks like he could be set for another four weeks on the sidelines after he hobbled out of Manchester United's League Cup defeat to Sunderland.

The midfielder seemed to pick up an ankle injury before being substituted for Phil Jones early in extra time, and according to the Guardian's Jamie Jackson, it could rule him out for a month:

If true, Carrick would miss the next five United games, including a tough trip to Arsenal. Fortunately Marouane Fellaini has now returned to training, and will hopefully be available for selection for United's game against Cardiff next week. Without him fit, we'd have serious depth issues alongside our blatantly obvious dearth in midfield quality.
