Ángel Di María ruled out of Liverpool game

It's not a huge surprise, but it is still slightly disappointing: Ángel Di María, Manchester Untied's record signing and all-round general attacking terror, will not play on Sunday against Liverpool. That hamstring tear, minor though it apparently is, hasn't gone away completely.

A shame. Still, there are only three other absentees — Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind — and, by the standards of this season, that's not all that bad. Options at the back, options in midfield, options up top; the tantalising possibility of Radamel Falcao finally getting a start; the even more tantalising possibility of Rafael playing at right back.

So what do we think? TBB's initial guess is that we'll see Jonny Evans and Marcos Rojo in the middle of defence, Rafael and Ashley Young as full backs, and Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney ahead of Juan Mata up front. No idea about the midfield: let's go with Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera. That'll sort it.
