Are Leicester City set to terminate Nick Powell's loan?

The midfielder has made just two appearances off the bench since signing for the Foxes.

Nick Powell arrived at Manchester United as England's Next Big Thing, though the former Crewe Alexandra man has failed miserably to make a mark on the Premier League since being sent off to Leicester City on loan back in September.

Both of the 20-year-old midfielder-cum-striker's appearances have been off the bench, though he's been sat in the stands for the Foxes' last three games. Now, the word on the street (or in the Telegraph) is that Nigel Pearson is ready to send Powell back to United next month, when it seems both sides have the option to cut the loan short.

Truth be told, that would probably be a good move for all parties concerned. Clearly Powell has talent -- and by all accounts he did very well at Wigan Athletic in the Championship last season -- but he's now at an age where he really needs to be proving his worth on the field, even if that means spending another few months back in the second tier.
