United plan to replace adverts with fans

The club are offering fans the chance to get their faces onto United's advertising hoardings.

Michael Regan

Well, it's innovative. United have been talking to Google+, which apparently still exists, and from those talks has emerged an idea. This "historic" Front Row campaign will:

offer a select group of the Reds' international fanbase the opportunity to "be" at the Theatre of Dreams - live - no matter where they are in the world

How, you ask? Well, at the forthcoming home game against Liverpool, a live Google+ Hangout will be streamed onto Old Trafford's "pioneering" digital hoardings. Where once grinned Mister Potato, there could be grinning anybody. You. Your friends. A collection of mischievous Scousers wearing David Moyes masks, perhaps, if they can make their way past United's digital gatekeepers.

Should you be interested, then you will need to share a picture on Google+ that "showcases your love, passion and commitment to United", tagged #MUFrontRow. If the club like your face, they'll get in touch. Full details here. What a world we live in.
