Not hugely surprising news, but news nonetheless: Italian Internazionale have confirmed that Nemanja Vidic will be joining them once the current season is over.

Owner Erick Thohir said "Vidic is a world-class player. I'm extremely happy to have completed this deal to bring Nemanja to Milan. He will bring added value to the club and is another piece of the great Inter side we are building."
At the time of writing, Vidic has played 291 games for the club, scored 20 goals, lifted 9 major trophies including 5 league titles, and both given and received more bruises than anybody can remember. And while nobody would argue that he's lost his edge just a little over recent seasons -- that long-term knee injury picked up against Otelul Galati perhaps marked the beginning of the end -- his central defensive partnership with Rio Ferdinand was, at it's peak among the finest in United's history.
