Manchester United set to sack David Moyes, according to reports

According to reports in several big newspapers, David Moyes' sacking is imminent.

According to simultaneous reports in several big newspapers, David Moyes is set to be sacked as manager of Manchester United.

Both the Daily Mirror and the Guardian have cited Moyes' loss of the dressing room as factors behind his imminent departure, with the Scot described as a "dead man walking" by Jamie Jackson.

At present, the Glazers and vice-president Ed Woodward are said to be in discussions over whether to continue with Moyes, though with these reports all coming at once, there's almost certainly substance to them. It's perfectly possible that he'll be sacked before the weekend.

United's dismal 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park yesterday seems to have been the final nail in the coffin, with the United hierarchy apparently convinced Moyes is not of the calibre to lead the club forward. Ryan Giggs is reportedly set to be installed as caretaker boss if Moyes is sacked before the next game at home to Norwich City.
