With the clash against Bayern Munich looming, David Moyes has heavily rotated his team to face Newcastle. Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Danny Welbeck are all rested, with Antonio Valencia starting at right-back and Patrice Evra coming back into the side.
Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa are out wide in midfield, with Juan Mata seemingly in the hole ahead of Darren Fletcher and Marouane Fellaini. Javier Hernandez is a long striker up front.
Most intriguingly, young striker James Wilson, who has been in lethal form for the reserves, is named on the bench, along with Adnan Januzaj and Nani.
Anders Lindegaard also starts in goal, with De Gea another name being rested ahead of the big game against Bayern. Still, this should be interesting. And let's hope we get a glimpse of Wilson at some point...
Manchester United starting lineup: Lindegaard; Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Evra; Young, Mata, Fletcher, Fellaini, Kagawa; Hernandez. Subs: De Gea, Büttner, Vidic, Cleverley, Januzaj, Nani, Wilson.
