Manchester United are indeed lining up as per the earlier leaked teamsheet against Bayern Munich.
That means that Rio Ferdinand is dropped from the side in favour of Chris Smalling, while Phil Jones starts at right-back in the absence of Rafael. Patrice Evra is chosen ahead of Alexander Buttner.
In midfield, Darren Fletcher partners Michael Carrick, while Shinji Kagawa, Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck line up behind Wayne Rooney up front.
Most of you seemed to be fairly happy with that side, and the options of Javier Hernandez, Ryan Giggs and Adnan Januzaj give us a decent-looking bench, too.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich start with an actual striker, which is mildly worrying, in Mario Mandzukic. We had expected a Lahm-Kroos midfield with Rafinha and Alaba at fullback, but it appears that's not the case. It's not precisely clear how they're lining up but we think it is as below. That is a very, very flimsy midfield if United can get at it. Good job we have such riches in that area...
Manchester United starting lineup: De Gea; Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Fletcher, Carrick; Valencia, Rooney, Kagawa; Welbeck. Subs: Lindegaard, Büttner, Ferdinand, Giggs, Januzaj, Young, Hernandez.
Bayern Munich starting lineup: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Dante, Alaba; Kroos, Gotze; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Mandzukic
