It looks like the club is at least learning the lessons of last year and doing things earlier this time - presumably Louis van Gaal has had his say. As it is, the timing - just after Manchester City win the league - pleases us greatly.
Shaw certainly kept Adnan Januzaj quiet earlier and put in a great display against us, although we are slightly disappointed that he has to be one of the duller 'wonderkids' ever to exist.
Whether it's a case of 'he did OK against us - buy him', Fergie-style, or merely tying up the loose ends while we were in that neck of the woods, we don't know. Nonetheless, Shaw should be a reasonable acquisition - although we also hope we now keep Evra on board for another year rather than relying all season on a wean.
