Ryan Giggs reportedly to fly out to meet Louis van Gaal

The interim United boss Ryan Giggs will today reportedly fly out to meet incoming manager Louis van Gaal in the Netherlands.

There are developments on the Louis van Gaal front, with Manchester United's interim manager Ryan Giggs apparently flying out to the Netherlands to meet his replacement. van Gaal has been in preparations for his side's pre-World Cup friendly with Ecuador (which could provide a chance for Antonio Valencia to get acquainted with his new boss), though he'll apparently use a day off to talk business with Giggs.

There doesn't appear to be one definite source on this -- the Independent's info is based on the rather unsatisfying "reports," -- though it's pretty interesting stuff. Presumably the main issue on the agenda will be Giggs' own position; if, and in which role he'll take up a spot in the Dutchman's backroom staff. There is still the possibility that Giggs will opt for another season in a playing capacity, though that now seems pretty unlikely.

With van Gaal's contract said to have been drawn up and satisfied all involved, let's hope this will prove to be the meeting in which the loose ends are tied up once and for all.
