Wonderful news, for sane reds - we will at least have one likeable man on the pitch next year. Patrice Evra has extended his contract at Manchester United for another year.
There's a strange group of people who wanted Evra to leave this season, but they can, frankly, do one. Few players have got United as much as Evra or given as much to the side in the past few years, and we're delighted to see him around for another year.
Of course, we'll also be hoping that this hasn't in some way scuppered the Luke Shaw move and is a reaction to that. He'd be an ideal mentor, and the reason for Evra's diminished form is that he's played such a ludicrous amount of games without a rest since he joined the club.
Still, in isolation it's great news. Long live the king. Eff the haters, eff Lampard, eff Suarez.
