Memphis Depay was a name we were quite pleased to see linked with Manchester United before. While we haven't seen too much of him, he's widely regarded as one of the best young talents in the world right now, but is also old enough to be making an immediate contribution - the ideal sort of signing we should be making for certain positions.
However, before, it was merely the unreliable Express and Metro who made the link. So today, it's pleasing to see that, independently, Voetbal International, a Dutch outlet of higher repute, has made the link.
Apparently, Depay is open to a move after the World Cup, and United are monitoring him. £17m should be enough to seal the deal for the excellently-named winger, they say.
Depay, as we mentioned before, is a young player whose pace and powerful shooting have had him compared to Cristiano Ronaldo.
