Januzaj rejected "astonishing" PSG offer

It has emerged that shortly before signing his new contract with Manchester United, Adnan Januzaj was offered a gargantuan deal by Paris Saint-Germain.

Cast your mind back to last October. Adnan Januzaj had burst onto the scene and into our hearts, with only one slight problem: his contract was running down. He could leave at any moment. He was going to do a Pogba, wasn't he? Wasn't he?! Oh no! It's happening again ...

... and then he signed a five-year deal and everything was okay.

Well, speaking today to Belgian magazine Sport, Januzaj's agent has revealed just what was going on behind the scenes:

Minutes before Adnan signed a new deal at Manchester United, PSG offered us an astonishing deal. As Adnan was a free agent at the end of the season, the Qatari were ready to offer anything. It could have been interesting from a commercial point of view. But money has never been a deciding factor in his choice.

Ah-ha! In your face, Paris! In your incredibly rich face, Qatar! Adnan doesn't care for your money. Adnan doesn't care for your swimming pools filled with gold and jewels. Adnan only cares about Manchester United, because he loves us and he wants to stay here for ever and ever and ever ...

I can say Adnan's the best paid youngster in the world. He earns more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi when they were 18.

Ah. Okay then.
