New reports: Manchester United look to seal £34m Vidal deal in coming days

New, comments

Manchester United will look to take their spending to the next level by securing Arturo Vidal before the window ends, according to new reports in the Independent and the Telegraph.

Arturo Vidal to Manchester United has been perhaps the most tedious rumour of the summer, but it's back all of a sudden and this time it's pretty well stood up.

Both the Independent and the Telegraph claim that United will make a move to tie up his signature before the end of the transfer window in addition to Daley Blind to complete the rebalancing of their squad.

There are some other claims, which suggest the concern over his gammy knee was why it was left so late, and that United will try to pull off some appearance-based deal with either club or player, but it seems United are confident of getting it done. While we've heard that before, we've been able to pull off the signing of one world-class player already this window and it looks like another could be on the way.

Herrera, Vidal, Mata. Not a bad midfield. A minor upgrade on Carrick-Cleverley, at least.
