It's Friday press conference time, and as his his style, Louis van Gaal has been saying things while other people listen. Some of the questions from Her Majesty's Hack Pack had to do with Manchester United as they are now, but one cheeky journo asked him about the rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo might be on his way back to Old Trafford.
Rather than straight bat the question back, Van Gaal said it was "possible," citing the example of Radamel Falcao as evidence for the Manchester United's ability to buy the best players:
Players like Ronaldo give a lot of extra to a team
However, he's not optimistic.
I don't think Real Madrid shall sell him.
So, while it's probably not bunting and champagne time, it's going to be interesting to keep an eye on Ronaldo at Madrid. If his reported unhappiness reportedly continues, expect to see a lot more about United's reported interest in reportedly re-signing him. This one, we suspect, isn't going away any time soon.
