Alas, the plane banner craze is still in rude health.
A set of Manchester United fans are reportedly paying £3,000 for one to be flown over Villarreal's stadium, El Madrigal, when they host Real Madrid on Saturday. The subject of said banner is, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo, with the message said to read "COME HOME RONALDO - UNITED REEL."
UNITED REEL is a supporters' group, and according to a message they posted on Twitter, "members from all over the word have donated their own money and resources to fund a mid game message."

Of course, the banner will have no effect whatsoever in determining whether or not Cristiano ever makes a grand return to Old Trafford, but at least it'll give us some brief entertainment in between a flurry of Real Madrid goals ...
