United flop heading for imminent departure

Anderson could be heading home.

Manchester United 'midfielder' Anderson is certainly going to leave Old Trafford at some point soon. The question is not if, but when. His contract expires in the summer, though reports suggest that he may well be in the process of engineering a move away before the January window shuts.

Who on earth is the crazy party set to take one of United's biggest (in every sense) transfer blunders of all time? The answer is Brazil's Internacional, who have, according to the Manchester Evening News, "expressed an interest," and who are, according to the Manchester Evening News "set for talks," with the 26-year-old.

We'll spare you another eulogy of Anderson's United career, and instead leave the last words to our very own Callum Hamilton, who wrote this when the Brazilian bagged himself a loan move to Fiorentina last season:

He had the spirit of George Best or Ronaldinho trapped inside the footballing ability of Chris Eagles. He was the wrong kind of hedonist, a misplaced maverick, and a man out of time. But he still couldn't get in a midfield ahead of Tom Cleverley, and for that crime, there can be no mercy.

Amen.
