So, the speculation is at an end. Victor Valdes is indeed a Manchester United player, with the former Barcelona goalkeeper signing on a one-and-a-half year deal with the option for another year.

So, there you have it. This is a very strange signing, however, in that it's almost exclusively bad news - Valdes can't improve us at all, and on the other hand, the speculation is just beginning, as we can expect further quesitons over what this means for David de Gea, who is rumoured to be a top target for Real Madrid in the summer as his contract dwindles at United.
We'll probably not get an answer to that one anytime soon, but reports suggest that he's been offered a new deal, and we'll have to see if he accepts or not.
