Louis van Gaal offers Southampton selection hints

Ashley Young is now United's only injured player.

Louis van Gaal has taken the opportunity in his weekly press conference to bring the assembled media up to speed on Manchester United's team news. The good is that Ashley Young is now the Reds' only injured player -- a fact that the Supreme Leader seemed to particularly enjoy revealing:

The bad news is that Youngy is going to miss out for over a month, and even a handful of the players that are now nominally not injured still have to get up to match fitness.

The upshot is that we're unlikely to see Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo or Ángel Di María from the start against Southampton on Sunday, while Rafael may miss out entirely having only recently undergone minor facial surgery on a fractured cheekbone. Luke Shaw, who picked up an ankle injury in the scrappy FA Cup tie at Yeovil should, however, be fit to face his former club.
