Anthony Martial left Wembley Stadium on crutches with the French side, after a game in which his team lost 2-0.

Goals from Wayne Rooney and Dele Alli gave England victory, having lost 2-0 on Friday to Spain, and this is the second injury - at least - to a Manchester United player on international duty.

Michael Carrick sustained an ankle injury for England, and most recent reports suggest that he could be out for only a couple of weeks, though early fears were that he might have sustained ligament damage, which could keep him out of action for months.

It is not clear how severe Martial's injury is, with French coach Didier Deschamps indicating there is no huge reason for worry now. It may simply be a knock resulting in bruising and pain, rather than a symptom of muscle damage.

Martial has a short time to recover for Manchester United's next game, where they face Watford in Saturday's early kick off.
